HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Ravens were not afraid to apply the pressure right after the starting whistle. In the third minute, Olivia Kudrikow (Plymouth, Mass.) had an opportunity on the right side of the box that was sent just over the top of the next.
- Less than a minute later, almost an identical play occurred, as Kudrikow would take on a Chargers' defender and shoot past the UNH goalkeeper for the 1-0 lead.
- In the 10th minute, the Ravens were granted a free kick from right outside the top of the 18. Aino Martikainen (Järvenpää, Finland) would drill a well-placed shot to the top left corner of the goal past a diving Caitlin Daley to go ahead 2-0.
- The Ravens would continue to apply pressure as Olivia Crespo (Ludlow, Mass.) would send a beautiful ball over the Charger's defense to a threatening Claudia Peirce (Carver, Mass.). Peirce would take a touch on the ball to pull Daley out of the net. Peirce would take a touch past the keeper for an open shot on net for the 3-0 lead.
INSIDE THE LINES:
- Emilie Fox (Bridgewater, Mass.) had to make zero saves in net.
- The Ravens outshot the Chargers 22-2.
- The Ravens had 9 corners while the Chargers had one.
UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: At last, the Franklin Pierce women's soccer team returns to their home field. The Ravens will host the Owls of Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday for their senior day celebration. The match is set for 4 PM at Sodexo Field.
