Women’s Soccer Edged by SNHU, 1-0

RINDGE, N.H. (10/12/24) - The Franklin Pierce women's soccer team would host their annual Breast Cancer Awareness game, Saturday afternoon. The nationally ranked Penmen would take down the Ravens, 1-0, with the only scoring in the first six minutes of the game.  

RECORDS: 

  • FPU: 9-2-1 (4-1-1 NE10)  
  • SNHU: 7-0-3 (3-0-2 NE10)  

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • The Penmen took no hesitation getting on the scoreboard. Only 6 minutes into the match, Alyssa Anderson took a shot from the top of the 18 that would land perfectly in the top corner of the net to give the Penmen the 1-0 lead.  
  • The rest of the game would go on without another goal scored. The play was relatively event throughout. SNHU had six shots in the second half to the Ravens 7.  
  • The Ravens were able to put a few shots on target to challenge the Penmen's goalkeeper to make five saves in the second half.  

INSIDE THE LINES:  

  • Goalkeeper Emilie Fox made 12 shots in goal for the Ravens.  
  • The Penmen outshot the Ravens 16-12.  
  • The Penmen had 10 corner kicks to the Ravens 2.  
  • The fouls were 7-3 toward the Penmen.  

UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The women's soccer team will take the mid-week game off. They will return to action on Saturday, October 19 at Adelphi. The match is set for 12 PM.
