Women’s Soccer: Huttunen Buries Late-Winner in 1-0 Win Over Molloy

RINDGE, N.H. (09/24/24) - The Franklin Pierce women's soccer team took on a non-confernce opponent this afternoon at Sodexo Field. Jenni Huttunen (Suomi, Finland) scored the only goal of the game to defat the Lions of Molloy University. 

Score: Franklin Pierce 1, Molloy 0 

Records: Franklin Pierce (6-1-0, 1-0-0 NE-10), Molloy (1-4-0, 0-0-0 ECC)

 HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • It took until the 87th minute for the Ravens to break the scoreless tie. Sophomore midfielder Jenni Huttunen (Suomi, Finland) created separation inside the 18 and fired a shot into the right corner of the net for the game-winner with just 2:51 remaining.  

 

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Ravens outshot the Lions 16-3.  

  • Emilie Fox (Bridgewater, Mass.) had a quiet day of the office not having to make a save but picked up another win (6-1-0) and a shutout, her 4th of the season. 

 

NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens travel to Pace University on Saturday night (9/28) for a Northeast-10 conference battle against the Setters. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.
