RINDGE, N.H. (09/21/2024) – The Franklin Pierce women's soccer team continued their hot start to the season on Saturday afternoon, cruising to a 3-1 win over the AIC Yellow Jackets to begin Northeast-10 conference play at Sodexo Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Ravens came out of the gates firing in the first half, scoring just 56 seconds into the contest. Junior midfielder Claudia Peirce (Carver, Mass.) slipped past two Yellow Jacket defenders and slotted it home off her left foot and into the right corner of the goal, giving the Ravens the 1-0 lead.

Claudia Peirce struck again in the 47th minute for the Ravens. She won a foot race against a Yellow Jacket defender creating a breakaway in front of the goal, cutting to her left and firing it past the keeper for the 2-0 lead.

AIC pulled within a goal in the 60th minute as Sydney Mercier found the back of the net off a feed from Gabby Williams and Lily Shields.

The Ravens capped off the game in the 66th minute to seal the 3-1 victory. Freshman midfielder Kaitlyn Bautista (Scurry, Texas) scored a beauty off a free kick, launching it from the 25-yard line and burying it past the keeper.
