HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Chargers came out of the gate swinging in the first quarter with four unanswered goals in the first six minutes. Clawing back at the deficit, senior attacker Olivia DeLonais (North Andover, MA) put the Ravens on the board with back-to-back goals. A final goal from New Haven in the final ten seconds of the quarter gave the Chargers a 5-2 lead at the end of one.
- The Ravens and Chargers traded goals through the second quarter off finished shots from Emily Ulmer (Bedford, NH), Kayli Hoefs (Amsterdam, NY) and Hayley Hermsdorf (Center Moriches, NY). Down by one with 30 seconds left in the half, Pierce broke the eye-for-eye scoring trend off an unassisted goal from Hoefs to make it 7-6 after two quarters.
- Coming out of halftime, Hermsdorf scored her second goal of the day and notched the teams at seven a-piece. The tide shifted shortly after when the Chargers went on a four unanswered goal run to re-capture the lead and make it 11-7 heading to the fourth quarter.
- Sophomore attacker Olivia Robb (East Longmeadow, MA) answered the call in the fourth quarter scoring all three of the Franklin Pierce goals, but a pair of finishes from the Chargers kept the Ravens just out of reach and ended the game with a 13-10 final.
- Sophomore goalie Katherine Hickey (Farmingdale, NY) played all 60-minutes against the Chargers and recorded 15 saves on 28 shots.
- Though seven New Haven players found the back of the net in Saturday's game, Cameryn Antler and Katie Schenk did the majority of the heavy lifting with four goals each.
