Women's Lacrosse: Hermsdorf Leads Ravens with Nine Points in 22-8 Victory Over Saint Michael's

RINDGE, NH (3/27/24) - The Franklin Pierce Women's Lacrosse team dominated from start to finish Wednesday afternoon, routing the Saint Michael's Purple Knights in a 22-8 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Ravens started the game hot, with 6 different players scoring 9 goals in the first quarter. Sophomore midfielder Erin McIlroy (Newfields, NH) opened the scoring in the first two minutes off a feed from junior attacker Haley Hermsdorf (Center Moriches, NY). Less than a minute later, sophomore attacker Olivia Robb (East Longmeadow, MA) scored to make it an early 2-0 lead. Robb scored 2 more goals in the quarter along with goals from junior midfielder Riley Beem (Windham, ME), senior midfielder Kayli Hoefs (Amsterdam, NY), junior Hermsdorf and senior attacker Olivia DeLonais (North Andover, MA) to give the Ravens a 9-2 lead. 
  • The second quarter was even, but the Ravens kept their foot on the gas. After Saint Michael's junior midfielder Addy Fenton scored halfway through the quarter, Erin McIlroy (Newfields, NH) scored her second goal of the game. Kayli Hoefs (Amsterdam, NY) also grabbed her second goal off a free position shot, and Haley Hermsdorf (Center Moriches, NY) grabbed her third, putting the Ravens up 12-4 at the half. 
  • The Ravens continued to dominate in the third with more goals from Hermsdorf, McIlroy and Hoefs to give the Ravens 15 goals. With just under eight minutes to play in the quarter, freshman attacker Julia Bond (Thomaston, CT) scored on the Woman-Up. DeLonais then scored her second of the game a few minutes later. In the final two minutes of the quarter, freshman defender Riley Davis (Weare, NH) scored her first collegiate goal, to give the Ravens an 18-7 lead. 
  • The fourth quarter continued the theme as the Ravens scored four more goals. Hermsdorf, McIlroy, Hoefs, and Robb scored again in the 4th quarter, giving the Ravens a 22-8 victory. Hermsdorf finished the game with 5 goals, while McIlroy, Hoefs, and Robb all scored 4 goal of their own. DeLonais scored two goals, while Bond, Beem, and Davis all netted one.
