RINDGE, N.H. (4/19/23) - The Franklin Pierce University women's lacrosse team lost a 22-10 Northeast-10 Conference decision to 17^th-ranked Saint Anselm College at Sodexo Field on Tuesday evening.

Franklin Pierce is now 3-11 (2-8 NE10) overall following the loss, while Saint Anselm improves to 10-3 (6-3 NE10) with the win.

To start out, Saint Anselm would jump ahead with the game's first three goals scored en route to a 4-1 advantage after 15-minutes played. Two of the Hawk goals would belong to junior attacker Jess Sullivan, both of which came unassisted. It would be junior Kayli Hoefs (Amsterdam, N.Y.) that would get the Ravens on the board with 3:09 remaining in the first quarter, netting her team-leading 30^th goal of the season, also unassisted.

Entering the second stanza, the Hawks would go on to score the next six goals to push their lead to 10-1, with all six goals originating from a different scorer. Just over the midway point of the period, Hayley Hermsdorf (Center Moriches, N.Y.) would look to help steer the Ravens back on track with two consecutive strikes just 1:34 apart from each other, cutting the visitor lead down to 10-3. However, additional goals from junior Olivia DeLonais (North Andover, Mass.) and senior Katelyn Hadden (Newburyport, Mass.) would not be enough to offset another three strikes by the Hawks, who would take a 13-5 lead into the break.

Out of halftime, the two teams exchanged the first four goals as Kayli Hoefs and Hayley Hermsdorf added their second goals of the afternoon to get the Ravens off and running. Then, just a few minutes later, the two would each score their third goals of the game just 00:34 apart, bringing the score to 15-9 in favor of Saint Anselm. However, despite the Ravens' improved attack, the Hawks would continue to find ways around the host defense, badgering the Pierce net for five unanswered goals to close out the third, stretching their lead back out to 20-9.

Regardless of the lopsided score, the Ravens would end the contest on a high note with their best scoring run of the game. The first of four unanswered goals would go to Katelyn Hadden, off an assist from Gabrielle Oswald, while the second belonged to freshman attacker Olivia Robb (East Longmeadow, Mass.), unassisted. Then, Olivia Delonais would lock down her hat-trick performance, along with an extra strike to make it four goals on the day to complete the 4-0 Raven run.

The late surge would unfortunately prove to be too little, too late for Pierce, as Saint Anselm kept their distance onwards to the 22-14 win.

Two netminders shared the goal for Pierce on Tuesday, with senior Erin Blake (Southborough, Mass.) taking the loss in her 13^th start of the season, where she stopped 4-of-17 shots faced. Sophomore Saige Paradise (Milford, N.H.) snuck in for the second half of the game, and stopped 5-of-14 shots faced in relief.

Women's lacrosse will continue their season completing home stand this coming Saturday, April 22^nd for Senior Day at Sodexo Field against No. 2 Pace University at 2:00 p.m.
