Bio
Steve Hennessey is in his seventh season as an Assistant Coach with the Franklin Pierce University women's ice hockey team in 2019-20. He is also an assistant coach with the University's men's soccer team as well, working with the team's goalkeepers.
Hennessey played four years of soccer and two years of ice hockey at Western New England College. On the ice, he logged 41 games for the Golden Bears and totaled 8-5-13 along the way, including 3-3-6 as a sophomore and an impressive 5-2-7 campaign as a freshman. In all, he scored four power-play goals and three game-winning goals (for a team with nine wins over those two years).
Hennessey was more decorated on the soccer pitch, where he was named a captain during his senior season and was selected to the Commonwealth Coast Conference All-Star First-Team and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-New England Division III Second-Team. He was also named WNEC Co-Male Athlete of the Year for the 2007-2008 school year. Hennessey helped guide WNEC to three conference titles and the first four NCAA Championship appearances in school history. During the summer of 2007, he played in every game for the Vermont Voltage of the Premier Development League as the starting goalkeeper, leading the league in saves and minutes played.
Originally from Essex, Vt., Hennessey graduated from Western New England in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in business administration, with a focus in sport management. He is currently pursuing his master's degree at Franklin Pierce. He earned his master's degree from Franklin Pierce in 2015.
