HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Ravens struck first halfway through the first period. The red-hot redshirt first-year Brynn Levinson (Glencoe, IL) grabbed a pass from senior captain Julia Stevens (Minneapolis, MN) to put the Ravens up 1-0.
- The Ravens would hold this lead until the third period where the Sharks would find the equalizer. Ashley Morrow buried the puck past junior goaltender Jill Hertl (Highland Park, IL) to knot the game up 1-1.
- In the final minute of the third period, when the Ravens were thinking of overtime, the Sharks' top goal scorer, Jeannie Wallner, scored the game-winner sealing a 2-1 win and secured the season sweep over the Ravens.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS
- The Sharks peppered the Ravens with shots, outshooting them 39-18. Jill Hertl had a busy day in net, saving 37 of 39 against the Sharks.
- The Ravens once again came up empty-handed with the extra skater, going 0-3 on the power play. The Sharks also came up empty-handed on the power play on four attempts.
- The Sharks also controlled the faceoff circle, winning 35 draws to the Ravens' 28.
