BRIDEWATER, Mass. (1/31/25) – The Franklin Pierce women's ice hockey team roll into Bridgewater but find themselves behind two scores, but a late comeback sparks the Ravens in 3-2 win.

Score: Franklin Pierce 3, Stonehill 2
Records: Franklin Pierce (12-10-1, 12-8-1 NEWHA), Stonehill (10-115-3, 10-8-3 NEWHA)
Location: Bridgewater, Mass., Bridgewater Ice Arena
Date: January 31st, 2025

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Jill Hertl (Highland Park, Ill.) puts on a show to begin the game. While the puck was in the Ravens defensive zone for a majority of the first period, Hertl gets 15 saves in that time, allowing nothing to get behind her. Lucie Turcotte threatens in the late minutes of the first, as her shot goes off the inside of the goal post, keeping it a scoreless game.
  • The Skyhawks come out of the gates firing in the 2nd period. After squandering the powerplay, Gracie Sacca scored moments later to put the Skyhawks up 1-0. Just two minutes later Bailey Feeney adds onto that. Though, as the period winds down, the Ravens get on the board with a goal from Casey Coffey (Hudson, Wis.).
  • After being down for almost half of the 3rd period, the Ravens tie it as Maggie Korneta (Naperville, Ill.) passes it over to Hailey Anderson (Greer, S.C.) who evens it up at 2. With under 3 minutes to play, Julia Stevens (Minneapolis, Minn.) shoots what is the game-winner to secure the victory.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:

  • The Skyhawks outshot the Ravens 59-48.
  • Junior goaltender Jill Hertl gets 37 saves as she tallies the win.
  • Hailey Anderson tallies 2 points in the victory, with a goal and an assist.

NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens go back home to take on Stonehill again tomorrow, February 1st at 6 PM.
