WORCESTER, Mass. (1/11/25) - The Franklin Pierce women's ice hockey team secured a weekend sweep by defeating Assumption, 2-1, on Saturday evening in Worcester, Massachusetts.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- While on a power play in the second period, Brynn Levinson (Glencoe, Ill.) sent the puck into the crease, where it deflected off a Greyhound defender and toward Ashley Wright (Milford, Conn.), who took advantage and scored the game's opening goal.
- Jill Hertl (Highland Park, Ill.) withstood a barrage of chances from the Greyhounds' offense, making clutch saves, including a breakaway attempt and a point-blank shot off a faceoff, to maintain the Ravens' lead through the second and third periods.
- Midway through the third period, the Ravens transitioned quickly from their defensive zone. Bo Dean (Toronto, Ontario) carried the puck through the Greyhounds' defense and fired it past the goalie, extending the lead to 2-0.
- The Greyhounds managed to get on the board with just 38 seconds remaining, as Kayla McGaffigan's shot deflected off Hertl and into the net.
INSIDE THE CREASE:
- Hertl made 38 saves to backstop the Ravens.
- Franklin Pierce outshot Assumption 49-42.
- The Ravens went 1-for-3 on the power play, while the Greyhounds were 0-for-1.
