Franklin Pierce Women's Ice Hockey Tops Post University 5-2
WINCHENDON, Mass. (11/26/24) – The Franklin Pierce University women's ice hockey team secured a 5-2 victory over Post University on Tuesday night in a NEWHA matchup at Jason Ritchie Ice Arena. Sophomore forward Bo Dean led the charge with two goals, including the opening tally, as the Ravens improved to 7-8-0 overall and 7-6-0 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Ravens came out strong, scoring first at 5:48 in the opening period when Bo Dean (Toronto, Ontario) found the back of the net off assists from Courtney Swenson (Bolingbrook, Ill.) and McKenzie Rich (Rochester, Minn.). Less than a minute later, Post's Noa Farberman capitalized on a power-play opportunity to tie the game 1-1.
- Franklin Pierce regained the lead just over a minute later when sophomore Lauren Maras (Alexandria, Minn.) tallied her first goal of the season, assisted by Hailey Anderson (Greer, S.C) and Taylor Hartinger (Albuquerque, N.M.). The Ravens carried a 2-1 advantage into the first intermission.
- Post responded early in the second period, tying the game at 7:27 with a power-play goal from Angeline Pitter, assisted by Dani Ammons and Jodie Rose. However, the Ravens reclaimed the lead for good when senior Mikayla Kelley (Eagan, Minn.) scored at 17:39 off a setup from Emma Laroche (Highgate, Vt.).
- The Ravens extended their lead in the third period. Dean struck again at 8:37, marking her first career multi-point game. Junior forward McKenzie Rich sealed the victory with an empty-net goal with less than two minutes to go, assisted by Maggie Korneta (Naperville, Ill.).
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:

The women's ice hockey team takes the week off for Thanksgiving break, but returns to Winchendon for a weekends series with Saint Michael's College. The first game of the series is set for Friday, December 6th at 2 PM.
