SOUTHWICK, MASS. (10/08/2023)— It wasn't the end goal for the four-time reigning champions but it was still a day worth celebrating after Franklin Pierce earned runner up at the 2023 Northeast-10 championship.
The University of New Haven, which is in its second year as a program, took home the top spot shooting a team combined 629 (+53) through 36 holes. Franklin Pierce was close behind shooting a 635(+59).
A note from the NE10 history books: New Haven is just the third women's golf program to be crowned champions joining Franklin Pierce who leads the conference with five followed by former DII member Merrimack who has four.
For the second time in her career, Raven junior golfer Kesinee Prukmathakul (Bangkok, Thailand) shot the tournaments best score securing the individual victory after shooting a 148 (+4). Prukmathakul shot an even par on Sunday's final round, led all players in birdies (6) and tied for the lead in pars with 22.
FPU junior golfer Phisonlaya Ruayruen (Chiangmai, Thailand) who finished tied for 11th was also celebrated at the Ranch Golf Club after she was named the NE10 Elite 24 Award winner stemming from her 3.953 GPA as a Management major. The Elite 24 honors the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at the finals site for each NE10 Championship.
