Women’s Golf Returns to the Course for First Round of Spring
HARTSVILLE, S.C. (March 18, 2019) – The Franklin Pierce University women's golf team hit the links for the first time this spring as they completed the first round of the Coker Cobra Women's Spring Invitational at the Hartsville Country Club.
The Ravens finished round one combining to shoot a 337 (+49) which put them in 13th place on the team leaderboard. Anderson College (304, +16), host Coker College (309, +21) and Barton College (310, +22) round out the top-three through 18 holes.
Junior Taylor Hartley (Battle Ground, Wash.) paced the Ravens scoring ending day one firing an 81 (+9) which put her in a tie for 26th place. Freshman Christine Songcuan (Lancaster, Calif.) tied for 41st on the individual leaderboard producing an 83 (+11) card. Team captain Zoe Yamamoto (Honolulu, Hawaii) tacked on an 85 (+13) while Sarah Daley (Beverly, Mass.) and Sydney Caron (Gorham, Maine) totaled 88 (+16) and 98 (+26) scores respectively.
Franklin Pierce looks to climb the team leaderboard during the second round tomorrow. Teams tee off at 9:00 a.m.
