Morrison Takes Medalist Honors in Playoff, Women’s Golf Finishes Third at Barton Intercollegiate
WILSON, N.C. (March 15, 2016) -- The Franklin Pierce University women's golf team finished third on Tuesday at the Barton Intercollegiate, with a second day score of 360, for a tournament score of 695 (+119). Sophomore Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) finished in first place, with a 156 (+12), after defeating Mount Olive's Paula Guridi with a 40-foot putt on the first playoff hole at Wilson Country Club.
Behind Morrison, freshman Sarah Daley (Beverly, Mass.) finished in a tie for 13th place by shooting 89 (+17) on Tuesday, for an overall score of 175 (+31). Ending the tournament only one stroke behind Daley was Taylor Schmidt (West Springfield, Mass.), who shot a 92 (+20) on the second day and posted a 176 (+21) overall.
Sophomore Anna Haynes (Hopedale, Mass.) remained in 21st place by shooting 98 (+26) on the day and 188 (+44) overall. Freshman Shannon Slater (Stafford Springs, Conn.) slipped to 30th place on Tuesday with a score of 116 (+88) to finish at 214 (+70) overall.
Mount Olive took second through fifth place en route to the team title. Behind Guridi were Julia Kaeding with a 157 (+13) and Julie Loennechen with a 159 (+15).
The Ravens return to the greens Saturday, April 9 at the Kutztown Spring Invitational at Moselem Springs Golf Club in Fleetwood, Pa.
