Women’s Golf sits seventh after day one of Middlebury Invitational
MIDDLEBURY, V.T. (September 27, 2014) – Freshman Taylor Schmidt (West Springfield, Mass.) and Anna Haynes (Hopedale, Mass.) each shot an 83 on Saturday to tie for 14th in the field, and to lead the Franklin Pierce Women's Golf team to a tie for seventh place after day one of the Middlebury College Women's Invitational at The Ralph Myher Golf Course at Middlebury College hosted by Middlebury.
After Schmidt and Haynes, both freshman Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) and Katy Lounsbery (Middletown, N.Y.) rounded out the Ravens participation for the day. Morrison shot a 95 while Lounsbery shot a 114 on the day
Wiliams College leads both the team standings and individual standings after day one, with three of their five golfers on top of the leaderboard. Sarah Hasselman leads the way after shooting a 72 (+1), and teammates Tracy Kim and Elizabeth Gudas shooting a 75 (+4) and 78 (+7).
After Williams, Middlebury sits in second, followed by Amherst College, Mount Holyoke College, Vassar, Hamilton, Bates, Franklin Pierce, Bowdoin, SUNY Delhi, and Westfield State.
The tournament will conclude tomorrow, Sunday September 28 from The Ralph Myher Golf Course at Middlebury College.
