MILLSBORO, Del. (November 17, 2017) – The no. 22 nationally-ranked Franklin Pierce University women's bowling team returned to action after a two-week hiatus to compete at the first day of the Hawk Classic at the Millsboro Lanes in Millsboro, Del.
The Ravens schedule was tough Friday as they played five nationally-ranked programs. FPU began the day defeating no. 14 Saint Francis (Pa.) 949-874 and no. 16 LIU Brooklyn 828-824 before suffering three defeats to end the day including a setback to no. 4 Vanderbilt. Sophomore Alexa Asta (Jackson, N.J.), senior Nicolette Vucak (Garfield, N.J.), sophomore Jenna Harrington (Barneveld, N.Y.), team captain Colleen Kelly (Quincy, Mass.) and sophomore Krysta Peirce (Casco, Mich.) rolled the Ravens high string of the day as they tallied a 231 in the victory against Saint Francis (Pa.). The same group also racked up their second-best showing by dropping 223 in the second game versus LIU Brooklyn.
The Ravens head back to the lanes tomorrow for the second day of bowling.
