The Ravens Fall Short in Rindge

RINDGE, N.H. (12/4/24) -The Ravens battled throughout a tough back-and-forth game until the Panthers took over in the 4th quarter with a score of 49-38 in the fieldhouse. 

Score:FPU 38, Adelphi 49  
Records:FPU 1-7 (0-4 NE10), Adelphi 6-2 (2-1 NE10)  
Location:The Fieldhouse, Rindge, N.H.

HOW IT HAPPENED:   

  • It was a defensive game from the jump. After the Panthers missed a 3-pointer, Colette Mulderig (Scranton, Pa.) put up a layup in the opening possession answered by a jumper by Rolanda Robinson to tie it. Only 4 points were scored for several minutes of the first quarter. As the first quarter was winding down, a jumper by Sara Macary (Naugatuck, Conn.) and a layup by Armani Rivera (Pawtucket, RI.) put the Ravens in the lead, 8-7. 

  • Two minutes without a score, Leana Heitmann (Syracuse, NY) hit a jumper in the paint and the free throw to add to the Ravens' lead in the second quarter. The Panthers keep a steady pace with the Ravens as both teams add to their totals until Kaitlyn O'Connell drills a 3-pointer to tie it at 19 before the half. 

  • Mulderig starts the Ravens in the second half by hitting a jumper in the paint. However, O'Connell kept answering for the Panthers as she hit from deep for 3 points. Once The Panthers finally had a lead, they never looked back. As they continued to add on until the very end, sealing a 49-38 win.  

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:   

  • The Ravens had 30 rebounds.  

UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS:The Franklin Pierce women's basketball team goes on the road to Southern New Hampshire University as they take on the Penmen on Saturday the 7th. Tipoff is at 1:30.
