WALTHAM, Mass. (February 22, 2020) – Fresh off a career performance, Franklin Pierce University women's basketball sophomore forward Izzy Lipinski (Farmington, Conn.) tallied her ninth double-double of the campaign with 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds – six offensive as the Ravens were undone by Northeast-10 Conference opponent Bentley University 75-52 Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center.

With the victory, the fourth straight, the Falcons improve to 19-7, 14-4 NE10 while the loss sends the Ravens to 10-15, 4-14 NE10.

Lipinski snared six offensive rebounds en route to the 15th double-double of her collegiate career while going 4-of-8 (50%) from the floor shooting. Emma Carter (Bristol, Vt.) put in a team-high 13 points with seven rebounds – four offensive while Sammi Gallant (Ipswich, Mass.) scored a career-high 10 markers.

Center Monica Viapiano carried the load on offense with a game-high 21 points and team-best nine caroms. Ella Thompson was 5-of-7 (71.4%) shooting for 14 points in 18 minutes off the bench.

Almost half of the Ravens rebounds came on the offensive end (19) and they out produced Bentley with 15 second-chance points, but the hosts scored 28 points off the 23 Raven turnovers.

A Carter jump shot at the 7:56 mark put the Ravens within two 4-2. A 7-0 Bentley spurt was ended when Lipinski dished a pass to Hannah Everidge (Baldwinville, Mass.) who pulled the Ravens within two possessions 11-5. Bentley went on a 17-3 run to close the quarter to lead 28-8 at the end of one. The binge expanded to 21-3 and the Falcon edge to 32-8 following Thompson splitting two attempts at the line. Carter ended the skid banging home a triple with 7:51 left in the half.

Bentley's margin grew to 27, 40-13 after a Maddy Springfield layup. Six in a row for the Ravens, a Gallant three with three free throw conversions made it a 40-19 game. Pierce trailed 42-21 at the break. Gallant converted a trifecta dropping the deficit to below 20, 42-24. The teams kept trading buckets as the Ravens won the third quarter 17-14. Late in the fourth quarter, Megan Lewis increased the Bentley margin to a high of 28 points.

The Ravens season comes to an end on Tuesday when they travel to Assumption College (13-13, 7-11 NE10) for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
