RINDGE, N.H. (February 12, 2020) – Franklin Pierce University women's basketball sophomore forward Izzy Lipinski (Farmington, Conn.) tallied her seventh double-double of the year with a game-high 20 points and team-best 10 boards during a close 64-57 defeat to Northeast-10 Conference opponent Stonehill College Wednesday evening at The Fieldhouse.

With the win, the Skyhawks, who are ranked no. 3 in the latest D2SIDA Women's Basketball East Region Media Poll and received votes this week in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association National Poll improve to 17-5 overall and 13-3 NE10 while the Ravens fall to 9-13 and suffer their 12th league setback.

Lipinski's double-double was the 13th of her collegiate career. She was 8-of-18 (44.4%) from the floor and a perfect 4-of-4 at the stripe. The 20 point effort was the fourth time this season that she's produced 20 or more markers. She poked away a season-high four balls (four steals), handed out three assists and blocked a shot.

Classmates Rylee Skinner (Leominster, Mass.) and Emma Carter (Bristol, Vt.) joined Lipinski in double-figures with 10 points each. Skinner was more efficient from the floor going 5-of-6 (83.3%) with six caroms – three offensive, two steals, and one assist.

For the Skyhawks, Gabrielle Reuter racked up a team-high 18 points off 9-of-16 (56.3%) shooting. Kayla Raymond was three points shy of a double-double (seven points, 10 rebounds), however, the duo turned the ball over a combined 12 times, out of Stonehill's 18 team turnovers.

Pierce pounded the rock in the low post sinking 38 points compared to 26 for Stonehill, but the Skyhawks bench was the difference out producing the Ravens 16-to-2.

Carter put her team ahead 6-2 following a Lipinski steal and fast-break layup in the paint off a feed from Demi Akins (Cambridge, Mass.). An 11-2 Stonehill spurt capped off by a Raymond theft to uncontested fast-break layup opened up a two-possession game 13-8. With 1:32 left in the period, Pierce would score 12 consecutive points spilling into the second quarter to jump in the driver's seat by seven 20-13. Carter concluded the first quarter hitting a corner three as time expired. Two blocks on the same possession, one by Akins and one from Lipinski led to a Lisa Sulejmani (Burlington, Vt.) hoop and harm. Skinner ended the run with a steal and fast-break deuce to grow the margin to two-possessions.

Stonehill turned the tables on the strength of a 16-2 binge to lead 29-22 with 2:30 to go before the break. The Ravens then closed the half on an 8-2 mini-run of their own with Carter finding an open Hannah Everidge (Baldwinville, Mass.) on the baseline and Lipinski collecting her fourth steal of the half for her 12th point of both stanzas to put Pierce down one, 31-30 at the intermission.

Lipinski had eight of her 12 first-half points in the second quarter knocking down 3-of-6 (50%) of her field goal attempts.

The programs swapped points over the first 2:40 of the quarter as a Kelsey Shaw trifecta slid the score back to a one-point Stonehill lead. During the next couple of minutes, FPU strung together nine straight markers with a Lipinski post up on the right block to grow the score back to nine, 46-39. Pierce then turned the rock over on four straight possessions allowing the guests back into the game as they reeled off 10 in a row to move in front 49-46. Carter was fouled with no time left and split her free chances as the Skyhawks were up 49-47 at the end of three.

Trailing by four a Skinner lay-in coupled with a Lipinski second chance bucket tied the score 51-51 at the 6:44 mark. Stonehill embarked on a momentum turning 11-2 run to go ahead by nine 62-53 with 3:33 left. FPU came within seven off Lipinski's 20th point of the game with 2:34 remaining. Both teams would score no points during the final minutes of the duel.

The Ravens hit the road to Saint Michael's College (8-13, 2-13 NE10) on Saturday for a conference battle with the Purple Knights at 1:30 p.m.
