RINDGE, N.H. (February 20, 2018) – Franklin Pierce University women's basketball sophomore guard Mya Mosley (Worcester, Mass.) matched a career-high with 22 points during a 65-50 Senior Night setback to Northeast-10 Conference opponent no. 13 nationally-ranked Bentley University Tuesday evening. With the win, the Falcons soar to 24-3, 18-3 NE10 while the Ravens fell in their 20th conference showdown.

Senior team captains Diondra Woumn (Lynn, Mass.), Kelsey Mayo (Oakland, Maine) and Jemma Thacker (Nairne, South Australia) were honored in a pregame ceremony for their contributions to the basketball program, athletic department and the Franklin Pierce University community. All seniors earned the start on this special night.

Mosley, a NE10 Weekly Honor Roll selection, scored 22 markers for the second game this season and tallied over 20+ points in three of her past four games. The last time she tallied 22 points was January 17th versus Southern Connecticut State University.  She stuffed the stat sheet with five rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals. Freshman guard Sophia Holmes (Oakland, Maine) followed up her career performance this past Saturday at Southern New Hampshire with a double-digit 12 point, five rebound effort.

Three players for Bentley tallied double figures including junior center Victoria Lux who produced a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards.

Woumn opened up the scoring by burying a running jumper in the paint. Following a Lux layup, Mosley regained the edge to the Ravens side with a slashing drive through the right side to the rack. Seven straight points for the Falcons including a Macchi Smith left wing driving hoop and harm to pushed Bentley back ahead 9-4. Holmes followed a missed three-ball by Thacker and put the ball in the hoop for the second chance points to bring the deficit to one possession at 9-6. Ahead by nine, 15-6, Mosley dropped in a layup with 1:12 left in the quarter as the Ravens trailed 15-8 following the opening 10 minutes.

At the 8:03 mark in the second, Freya Cooney (Woodbridge, England) drained a mid-range jumper to lower the deficit back to three, 16-13. Bentley closed the remainder of the quarter on a 16-3 scoring binge which was capped off by a Megan Lewis layup before Holmes stopped the bleeding with a pair of freebies. The Ravens headed into the intermission down 32-18.

In the third period, Bentley built their advantage to 18 points when Smith knocked down two charity stripe connections with 3:26 left in the quarter. The Crimson and Grey remained relentless as back-to-back opposite wing trifectas by Mosley and Thacker were part of a 9-2 binge that brought the deficit to 11, 46-35 after a Mosley strong hoop and harm to the rack. In the fourth, the Ravens kept battling as Bentley added a few more points to their lead. A Mosley layup at the 7:10 mark made the score 55-40. Bentley chipped in two more buckets to increase their lead before Hannah Martin (Woodland Hills, Calif.) dropped the margin to 17, 59-42. Bentley added on to their edge as they hung on for the win.
