RINDGE, N.H. (February 10, 2018) – Franklin Pierce University women's basketball sophomore guard Mya Mosley (Worcester, Mass.) tallied a team-high 20 points during an 80-57 setback to Northeast-10 Conference opponent no. 22 nationally-ranked Stonehill College Saturday afternoon in The Fieldhouse. With the victory, the Skyhawks improve to 21-2, 17-1 NE10 while the Ravens fell for the 17th time in league play.

Mosley took a game-high 24 shots in the showdown while coming up with five boards, three assists, and one block. Freshman guard Sophia Holmes (Oakland, Maine) caught fire from the floor in the fourth quarter as she knocked down 4-of-4 three-point attempts and finished the duel in double figures with 14 markers.

Leading the way for the Skyhawks was senior guard Courtney Walsh who dropped a contest-best 21 points on 8-of-11 (72.7%) shooting including a 5-of-6 (83.3%) mark from beyond the arc. Fellow backcourt partner Kelly Martin chipped in five points, a game-high six helpers, seven caroms and one steal.

Kelsey Mayo (Oakland, Maine) opened the scoring by collecting a feed from Jemma Thacker (Nairne, South Australia) and putting the ball off the glass and in down on the right block while being hacked. Mayo missed the free throw, however, but the Ravens drew first blood. Two minutes into the game the Pierce advantage grew to a duel-best five points when Thacker stuffed Walsh and off an inbounds play, powered the rock home to up the score to 5-0. Stonehill chalked up the next six points to snag their first lead after Walsh buried a transition right-wing trey and Martin converted an and1. A Claudia Tucci (Trumbull, Conn.) freebie knotted the score at six all, but Stonehill closed the quarter on a 9-2 mini-run capped off by an Elizabeth Grip second-chance attempt, which gave the guests a 15-8 first quarter lead.

Stonehill turned a seven-point lead to a 21 point edge on the strength of an 18-4 second quarter binge over the opening 5:15 of the second stanza. Tucci ended the Stonehill run by spinning home a post attempt from the right block to cut the deficit to 19, 33-14. With six ticks left on the clock, Shaw sent her squad into the intermission ahead by 25, 41-16 by pushing in a layup. The Skyhawks outscored the Ravens 26-8 in the second quarter.

Two Gabrielle Reuter free throws in the fourth gave Stonehill their largest lead of the game at 71-35, but Holmes and the Ravens concluded the matchup by outscoring the Skyhawks 22-9 to bring down the deficit to 23 points.

The Ravens remain home in The Fieldhouse on Wednesday for a 5:30 p.m. showdown with NE10 opponent Assumption College.
