RINDGE, N.H. (November 27, 2017) – Franklin Pierce University senior guard Jemma Thacker (Nairne, South Australia) poured in a game-high 20 points as the Ravens defeated non-conference foe Post University 70-44 Monday evening at The Fieldhouse. With the win, the Ravens improve to 4-3 overall and the Eagles drop to 1-2.

The Ravens have already bettered their 2016-17 win total through seven games this season. Thacker who was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll earlier Monday, converted 9-of-14 (64.3%) of her shot attempts while grabbing five boards. This is the third game this season that Thacker has scored 20 or more points.

Fellow starter Mya Mosley (Worcester, Mass.) tallied 16 points, a contest-best six assists to go along with four rebounds and two steals. Sophia Holmes (Oakland, Maine) drained 3-of-6 (50.0%) from long range in 23 minutes off the bench as she finished with 13 points and four caroms. Freshman Demi Akins (Cambridge, Mass.) made her first career start and produced five assists, four rebounds, and two steals. Classmate Freya Cooney (Woodbridge, England) chipped in four points and four boards while Samari Winklaar (South Boston, Mass.) notched five points from the charity stripe in four total minutes. Diondra Woumn (Lynn, Mass.) led all Ravens with nine rebounds and Hannah Martin (Woodland Hills, Calif.) finished with six points and eight boards. Half of Martin's rebounds came on the offensive end.

Former Raven Jasmyne Fogle who scored 299 total points over a four-year stint in Rindge tallied a team-best nine points and a game-high 11 rebounds in the setback. Franklin Pierce's 70 points was a season-high so far while the Crimson and Grey manufactured more points in the paint (34-to-22) and off turnovers (22-to-15) than the Eagles. The Raven defense held Post to 21.7% (15-of-69) shooting over the course of the duel.

Post opened up the scoring when Meghan Gotham buried one of two free throws from the charity stripe. A few possessions later, Lauren Chambers connected on a three-ball from the right wing to push the Eagles ahead 4-0.

Team captain Kelsey Mayo (Oakland, Maine) got the Ravens on the board with a three-point play in the low post. At the 6:45 mark, Mosley scored a second chance bucket as she cleaned up a missed lay-in by Woumn to move the Ravens ahead 5-4. Mayo would split a pair of freebies then Toni Deren ran down the floor for a fast break two. Gotham gave the Eagles their last lead of the game as she used her dribble by putting the ball on the floor then scooping it up off the glass for two markers. Mosley buried a shot with two seconds left on the clock to tie the game at 8-8.

The second quarter was all Ravens as they outscored the guests 22-4 and held them to 1-of-15 (6.7%) shooting in the second stanza. Franklin Pierce tallied a 16-0 scoring binge to hold a 24-8 edge. Akins came up with a huge steal off an inbounds press which led to a Mosley lay-in. Thacker drained a catch and shoot trey from the right wing to move FPU ahead by seven 15-8. The Raven reserves manufactured the final seven points of the run as Cooney threw in back to back layups, including a beautiful driving reverse lay-in and Holmes rifled home a three-ball from the left wing to cap off the run.

Mosley upped the advantage to 20, 30-10, but Fogle was fouled taking a three with two seconds left. She made two-of-three at the line as the Eagles trailed 30-12 at halftime.

Franklin Pierce continued to add on to their lead and led by a game-high 32 points in the fourth quarter to move to 3-1 in non-league games this year.

The Ravens travel away from campus on Wednesday as they return to NE10 play at no. 3 nationally- ranked Bentley University with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.
