Brooke Coderre Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team

Second academic honor for Coderre this week

RINDGE, N.H. (January 31, 2014) – Franklin Pierce University senior guard Brooke Coderre (Woonsocket, R.I.) on Friday was named to the 2013-14 CoSIDA Academic All-District I Team, which combines her impressive accomplishments on the hardwood and her exemplary work in the classroom.

To be eligible for consideration for the academic all-district team, a student-athlete must have a 3.3 cumulative grade point average, and be a starter or significant contributor on their basketball team. District I includes all schools in the Northeast corridor of the United States, as Coderre will now move on for consideration for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, which will be announced later in the season.

A sports and recreation management major, Coderre boasts a remarkable 3.93 GPA in her area of study, while also serving as a starting guard for the Ravens.

She has started all 18 games this season, helping lead the Ravens to an 11-7 overall record and an 8-5 mark in the Northeast-10 Conference. She is averaging 34.9 minutes per game, which is the fourth highest average in the league.

Coderre is averaging 11.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game this season, which are all single-season career-highs for her. She is shooting a blistering 56 percent from three-point range this season which leads the NE-10. Coderre has her name splashed among the league leaders in several other categories, as she ranks among the top-10 in the NE-10 in free throw percentage (10th, 85.5%), assist-to-turnover ratio (7th, 1.8), total blocks (8th, 15), total assists (9th, 62), assists per game (9th, 3.4), and three-pointers made (10th, 28).

Friday’s CoSIDA honor marks the second academic achievement for Coderre this week, as on Tuesday she was named to the Franklin Pierce Department of Athletics Academic Honor Roll for her work in the classroom during the fall semester.

Coderre and the Ravens look to extend their winning streak to four-straight games on Saturday when Franklin Pierce travels to Syracuse, N.Y. to take on Le Moyne in a 12 p.m. tip. Following Saturday’s contest, the Ravens will be home for three-straight games beginning on Wednesday with a 5:30 p.m. tip off against Saint Michael’s in The Fieldhouse in Rindge.
