Women's Basketball Ranked 21st in WBCA Division II Academic Top-25 Poll

Ravens one of just two NE-10 schools in the national academic rankings

RINDGE, N.H. (July 26, 2012) -- The Franklin Pierce University women’s basketball team was recently honored by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) as the Ravens earned a No. 21 national ranking in the WBCA Division II Academic Top-25 Poll. Franklin Pierce, which was one of only two schools in the Northeast-10 Conference to appear in the rankings, earned a team GPA of 3.446 during the past academic year.

The WBCA did an academic top-25 for each of the five divisions in women's college basketball (I, II, III, NAIA, NJCAA). Drury earned the highest GPA in Division II and across all levels by posting a 3.709 mark.

The academic honor illustrates the fact that Franklin Pierce is a terrific all-around program, both on and off the court. The Ravens concluded the 2011-12 season with a 20-10 overall record and a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament for the fifth-straight year. Earlier this summer, the Ravens were honored with the Northeast-10's Team Academic Excellence Award for the sport of women's basketball.
