Bio

2007-2008: Took the court in 29 games off the bench, averaging 9.2 minutes per game. Grabbed a season-high three rebounds in back-to-back games against Stonehill (12/1) and Le Moyne (12/4). Scored a season-high six points on 3-of-4 shooting and added two rebounds in a win over Post (12/14). 

2006-2007: Appeared in all 28 games off the bench for the Ravens, averaging 15.6 minutes and 1.9 points per game. Grabbed five rebounds, scored four points and dished out three assists  against C.W. Post (11/18). Hit 3-of-6 shots for six points against Northwood (12/30). Hauled in a season-best six rebounds and added four points versus Assumption (2/25). 

2005-06: Northeast-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll Bronze Scholar. Played all 30 games, starting five, as true freshman for ECAC Division II Champions. Averaged 3.6 points, 1.6 rebounds in 18.3 minutes per game. Shot 46.7 percent (50-107) from the field. Led the Ravens in rebounding once. Averaged 6.7 points, 1.7 rebounds, an assist and a steal in three postseason games (one start). Netted 10 points to go with two rebounds, two assists and two steals in win over Salem International University (12/10). Registered a season-high 11 points and added two rebounds and two steals in win over Le Moyne (1/21). Posted eight points, four rebounds and two assists in ECAC Tournament semifinal win at Dominican (3/10).

Before Franklin Pierce: 2005 honors graduate of Christ the King High School. Four year letter-winner of the women's basketball team, serving as captain during her junior and senior seasons. Team ranked No. 1 nationally by USA Today in 2005, capturing New York State Championship. National Honor Society member. Played AAU with Liberty Belles.

Personal: Born March 3, 1987, in Queens, N.Y. Daughter of Eugene and Lucille Kapela of Middle Village, Queens. Has a sister, Janel (28), and brother, Eric (25). Majoring in history. Aspires to become a high school teacher or basketball coach. Lists going to the Elite 8 in 2008 and being part of the New York State Championship and top-ranked team in the country in high school as her greatest sports moments. Lists Diana Taurasi as a favorite athlete.
