Morris Throws No-Hitter as Ravens Split on Day 2 of THE Spring Games

CLERMONT, Fla. (3/1/25) - The Franklin Pierce softball team wrapped up Day 2 of THE Spring Games with a dominant 15-0 victory over the University of Mary, highlighted by a no-hitter from Kennedy Morris. The Ravens split the day's matchups, falling 1-0 to Grand Valley State before bouncing back in commanding fashion against UMary. With the results, Franklin Pierce improves to 2-2 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Elizabeth Wesoloski scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the fourth inning by launching her first career home run to left field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Ravens got on the board early in the bottom of the 1st inning. Georgia Clough grounded out to the pitcher, but it was enough to score Bella Williams (Phoenix, Ariz.) and give Franklin Pierce a 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the 2nd inning, the Ravens extended their lead. Zoey Galindo (Lakewodd, Calif.) drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home Lita Vorseth and make it 2-0. Then, Williams followed with another walk, scoring Anna Erikson (Temecula, Calif.) to push the lead to 3-0. A wild pitch allowed Andie Anderson (Phoenix, Ariz.) to score, giving the Ravens a 4-0 advantage.

Franklin Pierce added to their lead in the bottom of the 4th. Clough roped a double to left field, driving in Williams and Galindo while advancing Haley Bigwood (Athol, Mass.) to third, making it 6-0. Charlit Hartenstein (Massapequa, N.Y.) then delivered an infield single to shortstop, bringing home Bigwood to extend the lead to 7-0.

The Ravens weren't done yet. Kaylee Fraund (Murietta, Calif.) singled to third base, and a throwing error allowed her to advance to second while Clough came home to make it 8-0. Lita Vorseth (Mesa, Ariz.) followed with an RBI single to right field, scoring both Hartenstein and Fraund before being thrown out trying to stretch it to a double. Franklin Pierce took a commanding 10-0 lead.

In the bottom of the 5th, the Ravens continued their offensive onslaught. Williams lined a single to right field, scoring Erikson to make it 11-0. Bigwood drew a bases-loaded walk, bringing in Anderson for a 12-0 advantage.

The Ravens capitalized on a defensive miscue when Hartenstein reached on a fielder's choice, and an error by the shortstop allowed Galindo to score, increasing the lead to 13-0. Finally, Vorseth added two more runs with an infield single, Williams and Bigwood to cap off a dominant 15-0 victory for Franklin Pierce.
