Before Franklin Pierce: Abbey played for Lake-Sumter State (bio) for two seasons as a pitcher...She appeared in 50 games including 36 starts amassing an 18-10 record in 207.2 innings with a 3.24 ERA and 67 strikeouts and six complete games...In high school at Nature Coast Technical, Abbey was an All-State Selection her junior and senior year while also competing for the Clearwater Bullets.
