Simmons, Martinez Headline End of the Year Franklin Pierce Softball Honors

Franklin Pierce University softball freshman infielder/catcher Cat Simmons (Pine Plains, N.Y.) has been chosen to the Northeast-10 Conference Softball Third and All-Rookie Team while classmate, freshman catcher Allie Martinez (Upland, Calif.) joined Simmons on the All-Rookie team the league announced Wednesday afternoon after a collection of votes by the leagues head coaches.

Simmons Nabs Second NE10 Rookie of the Week Honor

Franklin Pierce University softball freshman infielder/catcher Cat Simmons (Pine Plains, N.Y.) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week it was announced Monday morning by the league offices. It is the second time this season Simmons has been named top rookie.

Ravens Blast Three Homers in Game One Win, Take Season Series with Saturday Split at Stonehill

The Franklin Pierce University softball team smacked three homers and four doubles during a come from behind 7-4 game one win against Northeast-10 Conference opponent Stonehill College Saturday afternoon before falling 10-6 in eight innings to the Skyhawks in game two. The spit completes the Ravens 2019 campaign at 11-30, 7-20 NE10 and 5-16 in the Northeast division while Stonehill wraps up the year at 15-24, 11-16 NE10 and 9-12 in the division.

Mamone Stymies Skyhawks, Tosses Complete Game Shutout in Raven Win

Franklin Pierce University softball junior southpaw Amelia Mamone (Averill Park, N.Y.) hurled the first complete game shutout of her collegiate career as the Ravens scratched across the only run of the game in the bottom of the first during a 1-0 victory Thursday afternoon against Northeast-10 Conference opponent Stonehill College at Fr. Gartland Field. With the win, the Crimson and Grey move to 10-29, 6-19 NE10 and 4-15 Northeast Division while the Skyhawks drop to 14-23, 10-15 NE10 and 8-11 in the division.

Merrimack Takes Two in Conference Doubleheader Versus Ravens

In their final two home showdowns of the season, the Franklin Pierce University softball team suffered two five-inning defeats, 12-1, and 14-2 to Northeast-10 Conference opponent Merrimack College Wednesday afternoon at the Bisaccia Softball Complex. With the wins, the Warriors stand at 22-21 and 13-10 in the NE10 while the defeats send the Crimson and Grey to 9-29, 5-19 NE10.

Simmons Lofts Walk-Off Homer in Bottom of 8th to Lead Ravens to Victory

Franklin Pierce University softball freshman designated player Cat Simmons (Pine Plains, N.Y.) ripped a walk-off home run the bottom of the eighth inning to complete the season series sweep of Northeast-10 Conference opponent Saint Michael’s College 3-2 Tuesday afternoon at the Bisaccia Softball Complex. The win was the ninth of the campaign for the Ravens and their fifth in league play while the Purple Knights lost their 29th game and 19th conference contest.

Franklin Pierce University softball freshman designated player Cat Simmons (Pine Plains, N.Y.) drove in a career and game-high four RBI as the Ravens lost a heartbreaking 14-9 decision to Northeast-10 Conference opponent Merrimack College Thursday afternoon on the Bisaccia Softball Complex. The win sends the Warriors to 19-21, 10-11 NE10 and 8-7 Northeast Division while the Ravens suffered their 28th defeat of the year, 18th in conference play and 13th divisional game.

Efficient Pitching and Timely Hitting Result in Softball Twinbill Sweep of Purple Knights

The Franklin Pierce University softball upperclassman pitching duo of Amelia Mamone (Averill Park, N.Y.) and Sabrina LoMonaco (Franklin, Mass.) held Northeast-10 Conference opponent Saint Michael’s College to only two runs in a doubleheader sweep dispatching the Purple Knights 5-2 in game one and 7-0 in the nightcap. The wins were the seventh and eighth of the campaign for the Crimson and Grey, their third and fourth conference victory and first and second in divisional play. The losses send SMC to 2-26, 1-16 NE10 and 1-12 on the Northeast Division.

Bentley Takes Season Series From Ravens with 13-3 Sunday Afternoon Win

A two-run second frame brought the Franklin Pierce University softball program within one until Northeast-10 Conference opponent Bentley University exploded for 10 runs over the next three innings to complete the weekend series sweep with a 13-3 five-inning victory at the Bisaccia Softball Complex Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Falcons improve to 14-19, 10-8 NE10 and 6-6 in the Northeast Division while the Ravens drop their 26th overall contest and 16th league game.

Raven Softball Shutout By Bentley in Home Doubleheader

The Franklin Pierce University softball program suffered two defeats Saturday a 2-0 game one loss followed by a 12-0 five-inning setback to Northeast-10 Conference opponent Bentley University. The losses were the 25th and 15th in conference play for the Crimson and Grey while the guests glide to 13-19, 9-7 NE10 and 5-6 in the Northeast Division.

A WARM WELCOME: Klaus Dives Into First Collegiate Head Coaching Gig

Coming to a new place can be scary, nerve racking, and even hard, but for head coach Andrew Klaus of the softball team at Franklin Pierce University, his first year has been nothing short of warm and open. Klaus is the 12th head coach in program history, and took over after Hannah Griffin resigned after two seasons of leading the Ravens.

MANCHESTER, N.H. (April 11, 2019) – Four runs in the first and two more in the second set the tone early on Thursday afternoon, as Saint Anselm dealt the Franklin Pierce University softball team a 7-0 loss in Northeast-10 Conference Northeast Division play. Junior left fielder Maggie Murphy went 2-for-4 with a double and scored three times, while sophomore third baseman Lauren Washburn drove in three runs to lead the host Hawks at Saint Anselm’s South Athletic Fields.

#13 SNHU Sweeps Season Series Versus Raven Softball

After notching a 22-1 five-inning victory on April 1st, the no. 13 nationally-ranked Southern New Hampshire University softball program swept the season series from Franklin Pierce University taking a doubleheader by winning game one, 4-1 and game two, 11-1 in five innings. The setbacks were the 22nd overall for the Ravens and 12th in league play while the Penmen mark grows to 29-4 and 14-0 NE10.

Following a walk-off victory yesterday, the Franklin Pierce University softball team was looking to carry momentum over to their two games Sunday but were upended by Northeast-10 Conference opponent Pace University 14-1 in six innings and 5-3 in eight frames. With the wins, the Setters improve to 8-15 overall and 4-11 NE10 while the Crimson and Grey suffered their 20th setback overall and 10th of their conference slate.

Franklin Pierce University softball junior team captain Ashley Conway (Salem, N.H.) smoked a one-out walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Ravens a 4-3 extra-inning win during the second game of their doubleheader versus Northeast-10 Conference opponent Adelphi University Saturday afternoon at the Bisaccia Softball Complex. With the split (11-2, 5 inning game one loss) the Crimson and Grey move to 6-18, 2-8 NE10 and the Panthers record goes to 16-13, 9-2 NE10.

After 20 games away from campus, the Franklin Pierce University softball program returned home to the friendly confines of the Bisaccia Softball Complex and suffered two defeats to Northeast-10 Conference northeast division opponent Saint Anselm College Wednesday afternoon on a sunny but windy day. With the victories, the Hawks soar to 17-7, 5-1 NE10 and the losses dropped the Crimson and Grey to 5-17, 1-7 NE10.
