Women's Rowing Enjoys Great Weather at UMass Lowell Invitational

LOWELL, Mass. (April 18, 2015) – The Women’s Rowing team raced at the UMass Lowell Invitational on the Merrimack River Saturday afternoon.

The Women’s Varsity Four Boat- senior coxswain Bianca Baldelli (Stonington, Conn.), Sophomore Nicole Rode (Thomaston, Conn.), Senior Paige McGroarty (Quincy, Mass.), Senior Hayley Brown (Newbury, Mass.), and senior Madeline Morrill (Greenville, Pa.), placed third in the first heat with a time of 7:29.68. They raced against Merrimack (7:06.57), UMass Lowell (7:17.03) and Bryant (7:47.85). Later, in the final, the boat put together a time of 8:25.37 to finish third behind Merrimack (7:51.61) and Bowdoin (8:21.54).

The Women’s Novice Final Boat- coxswain Baldelli, Freshman Danielle Clarke, Freshman Stephanie Priest (Dudley, Mass.), Junior Amanda Beasley (Newmarket, N.H.), and Sophomore Ali Manzello-  placed fifth with a time of 9:26.25, racing against Bowdoin A (7:29.28), Bowdoin B (7:33.54), UMass Lowell (7:55.75), and Brandeis (8:27.12).

The Women’s Second Varsity Final Boat- Junior coxswain Mary Quinn (Erie, Pa.), Junior Colette Donnelly (Woodbury, Conn.), Sophomore Kirsten Salois (Pelham, N.H.), Freshman Emily Morrill (Lowell, Mass.) and Senior Ashley Lavoie (Coventry, R.I.)- placed fourth with a time of 7:43.02, racing against UMass Lowell (7.03.44), Bowdoin (7:06.8), Bryant B (7:14.12) and Bryant A (7:45.81).

The Ravens are back in action on Sunday, April 19th at Bryant University.
