Three Ravens Earn NE10 Weekly Recognition
MANSFIELD, MASS. (10/01/24) - The Northeast-10 Conference released its weekly awards for cross country and tennis, Tuesday. Men's cross country swept the weekly awards while women's tennis earns their first honor of the season.
Men's Cross Country:
Ryan Outerbridge (Paget, Bermuda) earns his second Runner of the Week award this season. This past weekend, Outerbridge finished first for the Ravens and led the way among three competing NE10 teams at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational in Rochester, New York. He finished with a time of 25:31.0 and was 21st overall, placing behind many DI runners from Cornell.
Sam Fortin (Hebron, Conn.) earned Rookie of the Week honors. Fortin was the best NE10 rookie finisher this past weekend. In the men's 8k, Fortin finished with a time of 26:43.7 and 65th overall. He was fourth to come across the finish line for the Ravens.
Women's Tennis:
Polina Georgieva (Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria) was named the conference Rookie of the Week after contributing three wins in two matches. Against Adelphi, Georgieva won at No. 1 singles, 6-2 and 6-1. In the 4-3 team win over Bentley, Georgieva earned two wins in singles and doubles, including a No. 1 singles win with a line score of 6-1, 6-2. She also won at No. 3 doubles against Bentley. So far this season, Georgieva has won every singles match she has played in.
