Men’s and Women’s Cross Country: First Place Finishes to Open the 2024 Season at Ron Ouellette Invitational

BIDDEFORD, MAINE (9/7/2024) – The Raven's Men's and Women's Cross Country teams traveled to Maine for the Ron Ouellette Invitational, Saturday. Ryan Outerbridge (Paget, Bermuda) led the men's team to a team win with a 5k time of 15:35.2.  Hailey Desmarais (Assonet, Mass.) led the women's team with a 2.1-mile time of 12:55.5.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The men's race was a 5k race. Outerbridge finished first overall and won by 15 seconds. Outerbridge was followed by Angel Mendo Alonso (Malaga, Spain). Alonso ran a 16:02.2 and was the fourth runner to cross the finish line. Alonso was immediately followed by first year Sam Fortin (Hebron, Conn.) at 16:04.3. After Fortin, sophomore John Viens (Berkshire, Vt.) would run through the finish line with a time of 16:20.8 and then Logan Mihelich (Northwood, N.H.) and Liam Doherty (Methuen, Mass.) would finish with times of 16:53.1 and 16:55.4, respectively. Junior runner Riley Tremblay (Mansfield, Mass.) would get a first race time of 18:30.1 and Aidan Healy (Bedford, N.H.) got a time of 20:10.5. The men's team would finish first out of seven.

The women's race was a 2.1-mile race. Desmarais would finish first overall with a time of 12:55.5. Senior runner Meghan Sheline (Southington, Conn.) was the next to place for the Ravens. Sheline came in 15th and picked up a time of 14:16.0. Tatum Seastrand immediately followed Sheline with a time of 14:16.1. After those two runners finished, the Ravens had Jasmin Baillargeon (South Wheelock, Vt.) finish at 14:20.2, Isabella Generelli (Worcester, Mass.) at 15:35.9, Lauren Muldoon (Hampton, N.H.) at 16:25.0 and Lillian Byrne at 21:03.2. The women's team would finish three out of seven.

NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: Both teams will travel to Wenham, Massachusetts for the Pop Crowell Invitational for their next meet. That meet will start at 10:45 AM on Saturday, September 14, 2024.
