HOPKINTON, N.H. (September 28, 2019) -- The Franklin Pierce University men's cross country team took control of its own home meet on Saturday, as the Ravens made sure the trophy from the seventh annual Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup did not travel far. Franklin Pierce left the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds with the hardware in tow after putting four runners in the top five of the 75-runner field, led by sophomore Riley Fenoff (Danville, Vt.) in second place.

Fenoff in second was followed by junior Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France) in third, senior Jason Reed (Foxborough, Mass.) in fourth and junior Cody Tallent (Bellows Falls, Vt.) in fifth. Fenoff's 8k time checked in at 25:41.4, Arlabosse posted a 26:07.2, Reed clocked in at 26:09.9 and Tallent crossed the line at 29:56.7.

Meanwhile, Bridgewater State had the race winner in senior Trevor Wysong (24:26.8), and had its next three take sixth, seventh and eighth behind Tallent. The Bears also took 10th place, to put all five of their runners in the top 10 and finish with just 32 points. Not to be deterred though, Franklin Pierce's fifth scoring member came home in the 12th position, in the form of sophomore Will Aylward (Peabody, Mass.), who ran a time of 27:36.6. This left the Ravens with only 25 points on the day and thus a seven-point victory.

The Ravens and Bears both overwhelmed the rest of the field, as it was another 64 points back to third-place New Haven (96 points). Assumption in fourth (112 points), Saint Anselm in fifth (114 points) and New Hampshire Tech in sixth (189 points) rounded out the meet's field.

The Ravens will be off next week, but back in action on Saturday, Oct. 12, when they head north of the border for the Interlock Invitational in Montreal.
