Men’s Track & Field in Action at BU Valentine Invitational

BOSTON (February 15, 2020) -- The Franklin Pierce University men's track and field team competed on Saturday at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University.

Junior Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France) had the most impressive showing of the day for the Ravens. In a 291-runner field laden with Division I talent, he took second, with a time of 1:49.17. The time marked the second time this season Arlabosse met the NCAA Championships automatic qualifying mark in the event. It currently stands as the third fastest time in the country this winter.

Meanwhile, several Ravens were action in the day's sprinting events. In the hurdles, sophomore Sekou Veillard (Davie, Fla.) took 30th out of the 38-runner field with his 8.96-second performance. As for the 60-meter dash, sophomore Ethan Pezzullo (Bristol, R.I.) took 38th, out of 79, for his 7.27-second run. Senior Trevor Guay (Londonderry, N.H.) placed 53rd out of 232 participants in the 400, for his 49.4-second run. Guay returned for the 200-meter dash, where he took 106th out of 228 for his 22.75-second finish. Pezzullo also competed in the 200 and took 150th for his 23.15-second performance.

Behind Arlabosse, five other Ravens competed in the 800, led by senior Tyler Hayes (Kings Park, N.Y.) in 187th, with a mark of 1:58.58. Junior Antonio Rua (Burrillville, R.I.) took 240th after his 2:01.47 run and sophomore Will Aylward (Peabody, Mass.) followed in 246th after his 2:01.88 performance. Senior Walker John (Boscawen, N.H.) ran the track in 2:02.67 to claim 261st and freshman Zach Aham (Nottingham, N.H.) took 284th after his 2:06.53 performance. In the mile, sophomore Riley Fenoff (Danville, Vt.) took 158th out of the 342-runner field, as he posted a time of 4:18.63. Graduate student William Rawson (Atherton, England) took 255th from his 4:26.66 run.

Out of 42 throwers in the shot put, sophomore Croix Albee (Trenton, Maine) took 17th for his 13.95-meter throw. Sophomore Armani Mette (Randolph, Mass.) took 37th after his 12.88-meter throw. In the pole vault, sophomore Aaron Young (Colchester, Conn.) placed 30th after he cleared 4.05 meters.

The Ravens return to the track on Thursday and Friday for the Northeast-10 Conference Championships, which will be held at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston on Feb. 20-21.
