ARLINGTON, Texas (March 23, 2019) – Sophomore Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France) and junior Trevor Guay (Londonderry, N.H.) each hit NEICAAA Championships qualifying standards on Saturday, while Guay and freshman Croix Albee (Trenton, Maine) each set school records, as the trio led the way for the Franklin Pierce University men's track & field team in the outdoor season opener. The Ravens finished fourth, out of 10 teams, at the UTA Bobby Lane Invitational, hosted by the University of Texas at Arlington, at Maverick Stadium.

Franklin Pierce finished the meet with 52 points, which left the Ravens behind host UT-Arlington (219 points), Cowley College (84 points) and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (83 points).

It was Arlabosse who posted the only event win on the day for Franklin Pierce. The Frenchman chalked up 10 points with a winning time of 3:53.16 in the 1500 meters. The time also met the NEICAA Championships qualifying standard in the event.

Guay added an NEICAAA qualifying time of his own, in the 400-meter dash, where he finished fourth, with a school-record time of 48.72 seconds, to earn five points. Albee notched a school record and picked up five points as well, with a fourth-place finish in the shot put (13.86m). Albee also scored in the hammer throw, where he finished sixth (32.59m) to earn three points.

Arlabosse was not the only Raven to score in the 1500 meters, as he was joined by freshman Riley Fenoff (Danville, Vt.), who placed sixth to earn three points, with a time of 4:05.48. Meanwhile, Albee had scoring company in the shot put, as freshman Armani Mette (Randolph, Mass.) finished eighth to pick up one point, with a throw of 13.10 meters.

The remaining scoring came from six different Ravens, spread across six different events. Four more Franklin Pierce athletes picked up points in field events on the day. Freshman Aaron Young (Colchester, Conn.) collected eight points with a second-place finish in the pole vault (3.50m), junior Cameron Torres (Manchester, Conn.) chalked up five points with a fourth-place finish in the javelin (42.21m), senior Robert Boardman (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) notched three points with a sixth-place finish in the high jump (1.80m), and freshman Ethan Pezzullo (Bristol, R.I.) tallied a pair of points with a seventh-place finish in the long jump (6.01m).

Back out on the track, one remaining pair of scoring performances rounded out the point-collecting on the day for Franklin Pierce. Sophomore Cody Tallent (Bellows Falls, Vt.) picked up two points in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a fifth-place finish (10:22.90), while junior Tyler Hayes (Kings Park, N.Y.) notched three points in the 800 meters with a sixth-place finish (2:00.63).

The Ravens return to action on Friday, March 29, when select athletes will compete at the Florida Relays, hosted by the University of Florida, in Gainesville, Fla.
