Arlabosse, Guay Trade School Records for Men’s Track & Field at NEICAAA Championships

Franklin Pierce men's track & field

BOSTON (February 1, 2019) – The Franklin Pierce University men's track & field team had just two student-athletes in action on Friday at the first day of the NEICAAA Championships, but that did not mean there was any shortage of highlights.

Running in the first of eight eights in the 500 meters, sophomore Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France) laid down a time of 1:04.77 to win his heat, establish a new school record and qualify for Saturday's final in the process. However, Arlabosse's qualifying time would rank just seventh out of eight finals qualifiers, thanks in part to his own teammate, junior Trevor Guay (Londonderry, N.H.), who took to the track in the second heat. Guay finished second in his heat, but posted a time of 1:04.11 to reclaim his school record in the event in just a matter of minutes. Guay's time would be the fourth-fastest of the eight who advanced to the final.

Arlabosse and Guay will return to the track for the 500-meter final on Saturday, at the second day of the NEICAAA Championships. The rest of the Ravens will be in action on Saturday at the Panther Invitational, hosted by Plymouth State University in Plymouth, N.H.
