Pair of Top-15s Highlight Men’s Track & Field’s First Day at NEICAAA Championships
BOSTON (February 2, 2018) – Sophomores Jeff Reddy (Chester, N.H.) and Tyler Hayes (Kings Park, N.Y.) each posted top-15 finishes on Friday to lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University men's track & field team on the first day of the NEICAAA Championships, hosted by Northeastern at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center.
Reddy had the highest finish of the day for the Ravens, as he finished 14th in the 5000 meters, with a time of 15:30.22. Hayes had Franklin Pierce's other top-15, with a 15th-place finish in the 800 meters, with a time of 1:57.14.
Sophomore Anthony Pizzo (Peabody, Mass.) finished four spots behind Reddy, with a time of 16:17.07 to place 18th in the 5000 meters. Hayes had company in the 800 meters as well, as senior Joshua Ercolini (Woburn, Mass.) took 19th, with a run of 1:57.86.
Four other Ravens were also in action on Friday, all in track events as well. Junior Jaris Neville (Atlanta, Ga.) posted another top-20, with an 18th-place finish in the 200 meters (22.72). In the 400 meters, it was a 21st-place showing (50.65) for sophomore Trevor Guay (Londonderry, N.H.). Elsewhere, freshman Colin Stoddard (Charlton, Mass.) finished 21st in the 500 meters (1:08.50), while senior Martin Gradijan (Lebanon, N.H.) took 25th in the 1000 meters (2:36.36).
The NEICAAA Championships wrap up on Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center.
