RINDGE, N.H. (July 23, 2014) – Freshman Jon Holmes (Albany, N.Y.) of the Franklin Pierce University men's track and field program has earned All-Academic honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, as announced Tuesday by the USTFCCCA.
The USTFCCCA bestows All-Academic honors on those who compile a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or better and meet either the automatic or provisional NCAA Championships qualifying standards in an event during either the indoor or outdoor campaigns.
Through the end of his freshman year, Holmes carries a 3.81 grade-point average as a graphic communications/marketing major. During the indoor season, he was a member of the Ravens' distance medley relay squad which finished the winter with the third-fastest time in the Northeast-10 Conference, as well as the 38th-fastest time in the nation. Holmes is the first member of the track and field program to earn the All-Academic label from the USTFCCCA. He was also honored with the cross country version of the award last fall.
