Gagnon Gagnon was one of three freshmen to earn All-East Region honors for the Ravens during the outdoor season.

RINDGE, N.H. (May 13, 2014) – Sophomore Chris Bohi (Loudon, N.H.), junior Antoine Gisore (Concord, N.H.) and freshman B.J. Smith (Concord, N.H.) all earned All-East Region honors in two events each from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, leading 10 total All-Region performances by the Franklin Pierce University men's and women's track and field teams, as announced Monday night by the USTFCCCA.

The USTFCCCA bestows All-Region honors on those who post the five best performances in each region in an event, as well as to all members of a relay team which is ranked in the top three in the region. The Northeast-10 Conference produced 111 All-Region selections on the men's side and 92 on the women's side, with both numbers the highest of any conference in the nation for the outdoor season. Franklin Pierce had five men combine for eight All-East Region selections, with a pair of women earning honors in one event each.

Bohi earned both of his All-East Region accolades in field events, as he was honored for his work in the pole vault and javelin. He finished the season ranked 35th in the country in the javelin, with a longest throw of 59.38 meters. In the pole vault, his top height was 4.10 meters, which was good for fifth in the Northeast-10.

Both All-Region performances on the women's side came in field events as well, via freshman Miranda Gagnon (Rollinsford, N.H.) in the javelin and sophomore Nadine Hyde (Maple Valley, Wash.) in the discus. Gagnon's longest throw in the javelin was 40.32 meters, which ranked 44th in the country. Hyde's longest heave in the discus checked in at 37.21 meters, good for second in the Northeast-10.

The remaining six selections on the men's side all came on the track, led by Gisore and Smith, who were honored twice each. Gisore earned All-East Region honors in the 1500 and 5000 meters, while Smith garnered accolades in the 5000 and 10,000 meters. Gisore's top time in the 1500 was 3:50.49, which ranks 28th in the country, while his best run in the 5000 was 14:50.06, good for fourth in the Northeast-10. Smith clocked a 14:41.97 in the 5000, while also running a 31:37.99 in the 10,000, to rank third in the Northeast-10 in both events.

Sophomore Colton Ham (Webster, N.H.) and freshman Dage Minors (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda) rounded out the All-East Region awards for Franklin Pierce. Ham ran a 9:35.28 in the 3000-meter steeplechase to rank second in the Northeast-10, while Minors recorded a 1:51.24 in the 800 meters, which ranks 22nd in the nation and leaves him on the bubble for NCAA Championships qualification.
