WEST HAVEN, Conn. (11/13/24) – The hopes of a 4th straight Northeast-10 championship came to a close on Wednesday night, as they fell 1-0 to the New Haven Chargers in the NE-10 semifinal round.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The 1st half was a scoreless tie and a tight affair, as the Chargers outshot the Ravens 5-3. Karl Vernet (Miami, Fla.) was able to make a critical save on a Chargers penalty kick nearing the end of the half to keep the score at 0-0.

It took just five minutes to break that scoreless tie. Mattia Maiello dished a centering pass to Oskar Kvarnback, who slipped it past graduate keeper Vernet and tucked it in the left corner to put the Chargers up 1-0.

The Ravens outshot the Chargers 10-4 in the 2nd half but couldn't beat Chargers keeper Archie Watts as the Chargers advanced to the NE-10 Championship.
