Barrage of Second-Half Goals Power Men's Soccer to 3-1 Win Over Bentley

RINDGE, N.H. – The Ravens were in unfamiliar territory, trailing 1-0 heading into the second half. Jonty Clarke (Cheltenham, England) buried the equalizer, and they were off and running from there, adding 2 more goals to secure the 3-1 victory over the Bentley University Falcons on Tuesday night at Sodexo Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Falcons struck first 29:15 in the first half, stunning the fans at Sodexo Field. Logan Veloria fired a screamer from his left foot that he buried in the top left corner, giving the Falcons the 1-0 lead.

It took until the 2nd half for the Ravens to find the equalizer. Junior defender Jonty Clarke (Cheltenham, England) collected the ball of a corner and flicked it in the right corner to level the score at one a piece 54:58 into the contest.

The Ravens broke through again to take their first lead of the game 76:42 into the contest. Graduate defender Alexsi Morel (Huntington Station, N.Y.) dished a pass to junior midfielder Antonio Lima (Lisbon, Portugal) who fired a beautiful strike that he buried in the upper right corner, putting the Ravens in front 2-1.

The Ravens weren't done yet, padding their lead at the 86:12 mark. Junior midfielder DJ Tucker (Hopedale, Mass.) did an excellent job of winning the ball and slipped a pass to sophomore midfielder Tiago Barriguinha (Alverca, Portugal) who laced a shot from 18 yards out into the top right corner, securing the 3-1 victory.
