UPDATE: Felis Honored With United Soccer Coaches All-America Nod, Two Others Named All-Region

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (December 19, 2019) –Franklin Pierce University men's soccer junior defender Carlos Ferrando Felis (Tavernes de la Valldigna, Spain) has been chosen as a 2019 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II All-America Second Team honoree the organization announced Wednesday evening. It marks the first time since the 2016 campaign (Marius Preber, Third Team) that a men's soccer athlete has earned an All-America nod.

Two other Raven soccer players, graduate forward Stefan Lohberger (Schoellnach, Germany) and Niklas Laudahn (Olfen, Germany) were chosen as All-East Region players. Lohberger joined Felis on the All-Region East First Team while Laudahn was a Second Team honoree.

Felis captured two more postseason honors as he already has been named a Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-Region First Team selection, the Northeast-10 Conference Defensive Player of the Year and an NE10 First Team choice started and played in 19 of 21 games for the Ravens (15-4-2, 10-2-0 NE10) this past year. Felis the fifth Defensive Player of the Year in program history and only the third individual to achieve the feat, was a staple on the backline helping lead Pierce to the 8th lowest goals-against average in all NCAA Division II (0.69). On the season, he tallied three goals on offense, including the game-winner in a 1-0 shutout of American International College.

He was one of two NE10 athletes to collect All-America status as sophomore forward Paolo Marciano of Adelphi University was an All-America First Team player.

Lohberger, an All-Conference First Team member ranks tied for third in the conference in shots (60), tied for fourth in goals (9), tied for seventh in points (20) and seventh in shots on goal (26) led the Ravens. He played in 15 games for the Ravens and scored three game-winning goals with one coming in the 2-1 victory at Southern New Hampshire on September 21st. In his Ravens debut, Lohberger tallied a hat trick (three goals) in the 4-0 win against Felician.

Laudahn, an Academic All-America Third Team midfielder has appeared in 18 games for the crimson and grey making 17 starts. The D2CCA All-East Region Second Team player has set a new personal-best in assists (5), which ranks third on the team and he has tied his career-high with seven points.

This year's NCAA Division II All-Americans will be formally recognized for their accomplishments at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony & Reception on Saturday, January 18th, 2020 at the United Soccer Coaches Convention in Baltimore.
