South Burlington, V.T (11/10/2023) -- The Franklin Pierce men's hockey team took care of business in game one of the weekend series tonight against St. Michael's, winning 6-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Sophomore transfer forward Austin Pick (Troutdale, OR) scored his third goal of the season a little over five minutes into the opening period.
• With less than three minutes to go in the first period, sophomore forward Matt Horan (Methuen, MA) scored his third goal of the season shorthanded. Franklin Pierce had a 2-1 lead at the first intermission over St. Michael's.
• The Ravens scored three goals in the second period to extend their lead. Sophomore forward Tyson Springer (East Palestine, OH) scored two goals. His second goal of the night came on the power play.
• In the third period, sophomore forward Devin Rohrich scored twice on the power play as the Ravens picked up the 6-2 win over the Purple Knights.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:
• Junior goaltender Brogan McDonald (Gorham, ME) made 21 saves on 23 shots and captured his second win of the season.
• Both teams found success on the power play. FPU 3 for 9, SMC 2 for 6.
• The Ravens outshot the Purple Knights 37-23.
