Men’s Golf Completes Vulcan Invitational In Fourth Place
GREENSBURG, Pa. (October 15, 2018) – The Franklin Pierce University men's golf team placed fourth at the Vulcan Invitational hosted by the California University of Pennsylvania.
The first round was called early Sunday due to darkness and was resumed Monday before the second round started. FPU completed the first round with a field-best 296 (+8) showing before tacking on 28 strokes in the second round falling to fourth place at 612 (+36).
Charleston and Saint Thomas Aquinas were the team champions producing a 608 (+32) total over two rounds. West Liberty rounded out the top three at 611 (+35).
Dylan Plis (Camillus, N.Y.) was the only Pierce golfer within the top 10 as he climbed eight slots on the individual leaderboard to tie for ninth shooting a consistent 76 (+4) both days. Keeton Foster (Spofford, N.H.) fired a 70 (-2) card Sunday before totaling an 84 (+12) Monday to conclude the tourney 10 over par.
Sam Myers (Colchester, Vt.) tallied a 155 (+11) scorecard producing a 73 (+1) first 18 score. Nathan Patterson (Conway, Mass.) and Liam Donohue (Vernon, Conn.) followed at 156 (+12) and 157 (+13) respectively.
The Ravens end their fall schedule this coming Sunday and Monday at the NEIGA Championship in Brewster, Mass.
