Myers Ties For Medalist, Raven Men Place Sixth at Saint Rose Shootout
GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (October 8, 2016) – After a first place finish during day one of the Saint Rose Fall shootout, the Ravens fell to sixth place on the final day at the Pinehaven Country Club in Guiderland, N.Y.
The Ravens shot a 304 (+20) during the first day which was good enough for a first place tie with the host Golden Knights. FPU tumbled to six place after a 315 showing on day two for a combined score of 619 (+51). Northeast-10 foe Le Moyne won the Shootout with a 609 (+41) score. Dominican placed second at 611 (+43) and Saint Rose fell to third 612 (+44).
Day One
Freshman Sam Myers (Colchester, Vt.) led the squad and headed into the clubhouse in second place after he shot a 73 (+2). Classmate Keeton Foster (Chesterfield, R.I.) rounded out the first day top-5 finishes for FPU as he's tied for fourth (75, +4). Anthony Vincequere (Millbury, Mass.) tied with nine other golfers for 11th place at 77, six over par.
Day Two
Myers added three strokes to his day one score, shot a combined 149 (+7) and tied for medalist honors which was also his first ever top-five finish. Tom Arisco (Cheshire, Conn.) remained steady as he matched his day one score on the second day of competition for a 158 (+16) good enough for a tie of 24th. Foster tied for 24th as he tied his day one score (158, +16).
Taylor Simpson (Londonderry, N.H.) and Anthony Vincequere tied for 30th place with 159 (+17) scores.
