Golf Finishes 12th out of 17 at Bello Invitational

RESULTS

BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. (April 15, 2013) -- The Franklin Pierce University golf team shot a final round 327 (+39) on Monday and finished 12th out of 17 teams at the Mike Bello Invitational, hosted by Le Moyne College, at Timber Banks Golf Course in Baldwinsville, N.Y. The Ravens carded a 327 during both rounds and finished at +78 (654) for the tournament.

Bentley won the invitational as the Falcons carded a two-round score of 586 (+10), including a final round 299 (+11) on Monday. Concordia finished in second place at three strokes back with a 589 (+13). 

Franklin Pierce was led by senior Ricky Gray (Jaffrey, N.H.), who carded a solid final-round five-over-par, 77, to tie for 32nd. He shot a two-round total of 157 (+13) after shooting an 80 in the opening round on Sunday.

Classmate Ian Landry (Loudon, N.H.) tied for 57th with a two-round score of 166 (+22), including shooting an 82 (+10) on Monday. 

A pair of freshmen, Sean Shepard (Griswold, Conn.) and Brad Auclair (Cumberland, R.I.), finished 63rd and 67th, respectively. Shepard shot an 86 (+14) in the final round and finished with a 36-hole score of 167 (+23), while Auclair carded a 168 to finish at 24-over. He also had a second round score of 86.

Junior Adam Spencer (Jericho, Vt.) was the fifth Raven to compete in the tournament as he finished in 79th place with a score of 175 (+31), after shooting an 82 in the second round.
Franklin Pierce returns to action Tuesday when the Ravens take part in the Assumption Spring Shootout at 10 a.m.
