Doubles Duo Brings Home Second Place at Westchester Classic
WAPPINGERS, N.Y. (January 28, 2018) – Franklin Pierce University men's bowlers Ben Drogue (Keene, N.H.) and Nick Fabiano (Emerson, N.J.) finished in second place during doubles play at the Westchester Classic hosted by Spins Bowl Sunday.
Drogue rolled a 568 and Fabiano totaled a 536 for a combined score of 1,104. The duo was only six pins behind the first place finishes from Suffolk University. Fabiano tallied the highest scores of the day in both doubles (231) and singles (247) play. Drogue's high string (206) came in the first game of doubles play.
Overall, the Ravens placed sixth with a total pinfall of 4,149. They had a higher total in the single series (2,087) than the doubles series (2,062).
In singles play, Drogue finished ninth by rolling a 563. Drogue placed 15th at 531. Teammates Ryan DesRuisseaux (Goffstown, N.H.) and Connor Bean (Windsor, Vt.) concluded singles play within the top-25 with 19th and 24th place finishes respectively. DesRuisseaux's high game came in his opening frame (177) and Bean rolled a 179 in game one, both were day highs.
The Ravens return to action on Saturday when they travel to the SCCC Invitational at the Boulevard Bowl in Schenectady, N.Y.
