He previously served as the head coach of the Franklin Pierce men’s basketball team from 1989-1999, where he compiled a stellar 192-97 record, leading the Ravens to four NCAA Tournament appearances. Luptowski’s leadership played a crucial role in putting the program on the map, earning him honors such as NABC East Region Coach of the Year and NECC Coach of the Year in 1990 and 1991.
After his time at Franklin Pierce, Luptowski spent 15 successful seasons coaching at American International College (AIC) before transitioning to the NBA, where he served as an Advanced Scout for the Detroit Pistons, Cleveland Cavaliers, and New Orleans Pelicans. Over his seven years in the NBA, Luptowski scouted over 600 games, providing in-depth analysis that helped shape team strategies.
In recognition of his contributions to Franklin Pierce, Luptowski was inducted into the University’s Athletics Hall of Fame in the fall of 2024.
