Ravens Fall Short of Penmen

RINDGE, N.H. (2/5/25) - The Franklin Pierce men's basketball team faced a tough challenge at home against Penmen as they fall just short, 75-69.

Score: SNHU 75, FPU 69
Records: SNHU (13-7, 9-5 NE10), FPU (3-19, 2-13 NE10)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Pierce Prendergast (Bayport, N.Y.) sunk an early 3 to get the Ravens ahead, 3-2. Royce Williams answers with his own 3 to take back the lead for the Penmen.
  • The Ravens were playing ketchup with the Penmen as SNHU continued their ambush. By halftime, the Penmen led the Ravens by 41-32.
  • The Penmen had a slower attack in the second half, only scoring 33 points, but their defense helped.
  • Donte Pope (Middletown, Conn.) scores 12 points in the second half as the Ravens bounces back into a one score game.
  • Though, Kurtis Henderson hits a layup making it a two-score game once again with under a minute left in the game. The Penmen continued to make their free throws to seal it.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:

  • Donte Pope tallies a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds.
  • The Ravens shot 42.6% from the field. Penmen shot 40.3%.
  • The Ravens had 36 rebounds while the Penmen had 40.

UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The Franklin Pierce men's basketball team battles at home again to face Saint Michaels, Saturday. Tip-off is set for 3:30 PM after the women's game. The FPU women's soccer team will be honored at halftime of the men's game.
