HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • In what has become a trend for the Ravens, they start strong in the early going. Donte Pope (Middletown, Conn) and Demariontay Hall (Atlanta, Ga) hit key shots to offensively get the Ravens off to a hot start. The Ravens eventually got six points with a 3-pointer from Nathaniel Smith (Toronto, Ontario) and a tip-in by Caleb Gatewood (Tampa, Fla). A back-and-forth tilt was the story for the remainder of the first stanza, but shots from Andres Fulgencio and Dayshaun Walton gave Adelphi a four-point lead going into the break.

  • The second half continues to be a struggle for the Ravens as the Panthers featured an offensive explosion. They outscored the Ravens 57-33 and turned a close game into a Panther blowout. Tavin Pierre Philippe started the rout with a three-pointer that extended the lead to 7. The Ravens started to get smothered by the Panthers' defense as they also did not shy away from the deep balls. The Panthers were finding open gaps in the Ravens' defense shooting 3-pointers left and right. The Panthers got hot at the right time and pulled off the 87-59 victory.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:

  • Both the Ravens and Panthers improved 3-point shots in the second half (Ravens from 30% to 50%. Panthers from 27% to 71%)
